Affordable and Best Boat for Fishing and Pleasure
Have you ever wondered what would be the best boat for fishing and pleasure? I did and that’s one the reasons why I have decided to write a topic about it.
Due to huge variety of boat types on the market, I will point out only couple of them which seemed as the best choice for myself:
Pontoon Inflatable Boat:
While making my choice, I had in mind the following criterias:
- Affordable for nearly everyone
- Easy to handle
Now you are probably wondering: “Why he had chosen inflatable boat types?” Well, that’s quite easy to answer. They are affordable and you can simply transport these boats in a trunk of your car.
There are so many advantages of these boat types. Not only they are ideal for fishing, they also make great family boats.
But let’s start from the beginning.
Pontoon inflatable boats are specifically designed if you wish to spent time with yourself. Inflatable boats, on the other hand, would serve you better if you prefer to spent quality time with your family or friends.
Main advantages of pontoon inflatable boats:
Affordable for nearly everyone:
The price range can vary, depending on the quality and features of the boat. Each boat is equipped with different accessories. Fully equipped boat, with the motor, can cost you less than a thousand dollars. It would seem a bit expensive, but in the end, you get a superb quality boat for a significantly low cost.
Such boats are usually sold with one or two-seater options available, depending on your requirements. Seats are generally well constructed and have a high back for power whilst rowing. You can always ask to add the additional cushioning to them for better comfortability.
It’s very cheap to operate as paddling won’t cost you a penny. But you also have the option to use electric or a gas motor. It’s an ideal accessory if you like trolling or want to get to the fishing spot faster. Don’t forget, that additional equipment will cost you a bit of extra. Personally, I would recommend an electric motor as it is much quieter than the gas one.
Inflatable pontoon boats have come a long way over the past decade. Not only they are nearly unsinkable, but also extremely stable. Rigid metal frame construction makes the inflatable pontoon boats incredibly durable. You can quickly repair or patch these boats if needed. They are very reliable and are built to last for long.
These boats are quite light and can be lifted by a single person without a struggle. The weight varies from 40 to 80 lbs. (18-36kg). If it’s to heavy, you can always purchase additional accessories which will lighten the load for you.
Inflatable pontoon boats are very compact, which means that additional transportation equipment is not required at all. You can transport it in an airplane, on a motorbike, in an RV, or even in the back seat or a trunk of your car and have plenty of space left.
When deflated, it will fit in to one or two carry bags. It can be stored even in a small apartment where it will be barely noticeable. A lot of space or a garage is definitely not required for such boats.
Easy to handle:
These boat types are very stable and maneuverable, which is so important while casting. I would say that it’s a very steady platform to fish from.
Such boats can be also used for the alternative activities like swimming and sun bathing and it’s a great choice if you like to discover new fishing spots.
Constantly lifting the boat might have negative impact on your back. Just be careful while lifting it or think about purchasing additional accessories which will lighten the load for you.
You might also notice that you are spending more time fishing than you should. But ask yourself if it’s a disadvantage?
I have covered the main advantages and disadvantages of pontoon inflatable boats and would say that it would be the best boat for fishing and pleasure if you fish on your own. If you prefer company while fishing, you should definitely go for inflatable boat instead of pontoon.
If inflatable pontoons are designed for two people maximum, the inflatables can fit up to 10 depending on the design of the boat. It’s a great choice if you wish to spend time with your family or go out fishing with your friends. But remember, the bigger the boat, the heavier it is.
Just imagine the impression of your 3-15 years old son or a daughter when they will see your new boat in action. The roar of the gas engine (if fitted), the speed, fresh air, comfortability, great views, discoveries that can be made and lots of other benefits that come with it. Most of your friends will want to have one!
Let’s cover the main advantages of the inflatable boats:
If you will compare the price of the inflatable boats versus hard hull boats, you will notice a huge difference. Hard hull boats can cost you thousands and, in some cases, tens of thousands.
Not everyone can afford to spend so much money on the boat. I’d rather spend money on my family, vacations, home decorations, gifts for my beloved wife, interesting activities and much more.
What I am trying to tell, is that inflatable boats can give you the same benefits as hard hull ones and won’t cost you a fortune.
At a first glance, inflatable boats might seem to be less safe than the hull ones, but that’s not true. Over the years the design has improved to the point that they are nearly unsinkable. You will need to make a lot of effort to sink such boat.
Buoyancy tubes on each side and flat bottom, make these boats very stable in all conditions. Additionally, these tubes have the ability to absorb large waves, which makes your ride as pleasurable as it can get.
Inflatable nature of the boats allows them to hold far more weight than some can imagine. Which means that they can hold multiple people along with all fishing equipment. Families can take cool boxes of food, drinks and whatever else you need for the perfect sunny day with your beloved ones.
Size of the boat dictates how many people can be onboard. Load everything in a balanced way in to your boat, jump in and you are ready to go.
Light weight of the inflatable boats allows you to use much smaller engines. Which will save you valuable space while storing or transporting them. Along with the saved space, you will save money on fuel. It’s not a big deal, but in the long run, it’s definitely an advantage.
Not only these boats are safe, efficient, stable and nearly unsinkable, but also, they are very attractive when inflated. I can guarantee you that people will hold their breath while seeing your new boat in action.
The only disadvantage that I could think of is the weight of the boat. It could be quite hard to lift it on your own, but if you’ve got company, just ask to give you a hand.
